TV Show - Stranger Things

Stranger Things

TV show

I just finished the first season of this TV show.

if you don't know what it is about, i will briefly explain to you.
It's about a group of four friends, which one of them strangely disappears. consequently, all of the town's people, family and friends go searching for him but, for that to happen, somebody will have to believe the unbelievable and have a slight understanding of physics.

The thing that i found most appealing in this story is the 60's content. The music, costumes and technology from that period of time made me enter completely in all the fuss of the story itself.

One other thing that I noticed was all the influences in the direction and plot of  the show. anyone of you that are familiar with Stephen king's work, or Steven Spielberg, will notice the similarities.

So, if you liked "super 8" by Steven Spielberg, you will love this series.

Meanwhile, as you all know, the purpose of the military area 51 was not to study beings from other planets, but mainly to study the ultimate and secret, future aircrafts to fight the enemy. The truth of what they do in there in the present time, i don't know, but if you have interest to know why that area was created, go look on YouTube.  In the story of this TV show, you can see that they prefer to put another reality in that matter and create a military area that studies the strange things that came from other planets and dimensions... this is not a spoiler, you know this, since the beginning.

I loved all the actors, mainly the police officer that helped the boy's family, but one of the boys was a lousy actor -.-

My rating: 8/10

Book Review: Awaken by Tim Bennett

Awaken by Tim Bennett

Such a peculiar story!
This book is about the amazing recovery of a man that lost everything and almost ended his own life, until his sister gave him the opportunity to go to Cape town's rehabilitation center.
Many strange things happened indeed but, for what's worth, he found the most impressive spiritual life I've ever heard of.
Well.. This story is kind of personal to me and i think that all of us have our demons, so i recommend this book to everyone :)

Book Review: Me before you by Jojo Moyes

Me Before You

Why am i not crying?
This was supposed to make me cry...
Maybe that didn't happened cause there's always people around me. It's pretty uncomfortably, reading a book like this with someone beside you.
Not all of the story is sad. For me, 90% of this book is happy and funny. But i guess that what marks you more is the sad part.

I bought this book in a day like any other. one of those days when i go to the book store just to be near books. And there it was. It had just arrived and i had to have it on my shelves. So much hype going around this book... God... Normally i don't follow everybody's lead but this was an exception :D

The story follows, mostly, two amazing characters. Lou and Will.
Will is a man that had experienced an amazing life, till the day of the accident. He lost everything in that day.
Lou is a normal girl who doesn't want much excitement in her life. She just wants to be near her friends and family. Anyway, she's kind of a boring person in my opinion so let's stop talking about her. But when she starts to work for Will she become a more interested person. She starts to read the news paper and reading good books. Will's influence of course.

Almost all the thoughts and perspectives are from the point of view of Louisa. I think that Will is the most interesting character of all. And the fact that i imagine the actor from the movie helps a lot arousing that interest.

If you are looking for a cute book to read, with a little romance in it, and with a really good sense of friendship. This is the kind of book you need.
P.s: just a warning that i wished i didn't have to do, but unfortunately, the Portuguese translation is awful :D

The movie is going to come out in august of this year.

Bye everyone, see you soon.

P.s: one day i'm gonna succeed in make you read at least one book in your life -.-

2.

A Brief History of Seven Killings

Through the woods

This one is still very fresh in my mind. Such a simple story but with an amazing art content. First of all, i want to say that this book is pretty dark and creepy. some of the stories will make you stop for a bit and start thinking: what the hell did I just read!?
I'm not saying this in a bad way.. this book is amazing, truly compelling and amazingly written.
The writing style reminds me of those classic children books that i read as a kid.. but a lot more creepy than that. If you are looking for some fast pace read and a good 'night time' story... well, this is the best option :D

Just to make my point, look at this beautiful drawing...
Well, if any of you read this book already, tell me your opinion in the comment section below. I'd like to hear all of your thoughts on this book.

Reading date: June 2016
